Questions, answered plainly
Everything people ask before they buy, and most of what they ask after. If yours isn’t here, ask me directly — the good questions end up on this page.
The basics
- What is Fastful?
A fasting timer for iPhone and Apple Watch. You pick a goal — 16 hours, 18, 20, or anything you like — tap start, and it keeps the time. There is a ring, a history, and some honest statistics. There is nothing else.
- Which fasting schedules does it support?
16:8, 18:6, 20:4, OMAD, or any custom window you set. For longer resets it handles 24, 48, and 72-hour fasts without flinching, and starts counting in days once you pass twenty-four hours.
- Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no email, no password. Install it and start — everything works from the first tap.
- Does it work offline?
Always. Fastful never needed the network in the first place. Your fasts are timed and stored on the device in your hand.
Using it
- When I reach my goal, does the timer stop?
Only if you do. Past your goal the ring keeps going and the count keeps rising, so hour 17 of a 16-hour fast still gets counted. Most timers stop at 100%. Your discipline doesn’t.
- I forgot to stop the timer. Can I fix it?
Yes. Any fast can be edited after the fact — move the start, move the end, and your statistics recalculate. A history you can correct is worth more than a history you can’t.
- Can I add a fast I never timed?
Yes. Add one by hand with the start and end you actually had — useful for the fast you finished before remembering the app existed.
- Can I delete a fast?
Any of them, at any time. It is your record, not ours.
- Will it tell me when I am done?
A notification arrives the moment you hit your goal. Nothing arrives at eight in the evening to ask where you have been.
- Can I set reminders?
Yes — choose the days and the time, and Fastful will nudge you then and only then. Leave reminders off and you will never hear from it.
- Where can I see my past fasts?
As a calendar, where every day wears a small ring you can tap for that day’s detail, or as a list grouped by month. Statistics sit alongside: hours fasted, longest fast, and how the last 7 and 30 days compare with the ones before them.
On your wrist and your Home Screen
- Is there an Apple Watch app?
A full one, not a companion. Start, track, and end a fast from your wrist without reaching for your iPhone.
- Are there widgets?
Home Screen widgets carrying the same live ring, and Lock Screen widgets too — a circular ring, and a wider one showing time elapsed and when your fast ends. Your answer before you unlock.
- Does Fastful run on a Mac?
On Apple Silicon Macs it does, appearing there as the iPhone app rather than a separate Mac version. Fastful is designed iPhone-first though — the phone in your pocket and the watch on your wrist are where it is meant to live.
- Is there an Android version?
No. Fastful is built natively for iPhone and Apple Watch, and that is where it stays.
What it costs
- Is there a subscription?
No, and there never will be. Fastful is a one-time purchase.
Why that matters more than it sounds →- How much does it cost?
The price depends on your country, so the App Store is the honest place to check. Wherever you are, it costs less than the lunch you are skipping.
See the price on the App Store →- Do I pay again for updates?
No. The version you buy and every update to it are included. If something ever grows big enough to be its own product it will be exactly that — never a paywall inside this one.
Your data
- Where is my fasting history stored?
On your device. There is no account, so there is no server of ours holding it. We could not read your history if we wanted to.
- Does my history sync between devices?
There is no iCloud sync. Your history stays on the device that recorded it, which is the same reason nobody — us included — can read it. If you are moving to a new iPhone, export to CSV first: one tap, and your whole history comes with you.
- Can I get my data out?
One tap exports everything to CSV — start, end, weekday, duration, and goal for every fast — and the file opens in Numbers, Excel, or anything else that reads a spreadsheet.
- Does Fastful track me?
No ads, no cross-app tracking, no profile. Only anonymous, aggregate feature statistics ever leave the app — never who you are, never when you fasted.

Everything else
- What languages does Fastful speak?
Ten: English, Spanish, French, German, Romanian, Russian, Hindi, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean — across the app, the widgets, and the Apple Watch app. Times, dates, and numbers follow your own region’s conventions rather than a fixed format.
- Is fasting safe?
Fastful is a timer, not a doctor, and nothing in it is medical advice. Fasting does not suit everyone. If you are pregnant, managing diabetes, taking medication, or have any history of disordered eating, talk to a professional before you start.
- Something is broken, or missing. Who do I tell?
Me. Fastful is made by one person, and the contact form goes straight to him — no ticket queue, no support bot.
